JACKIE HENDERSON
DipAD, ATC (Goldsmiths), SEA, HH, UA

Both figurative and equestrian subjects feature largely in Jackie Henderson’s work. The combination of having an equestrian family and all the joy that brings her, plus the joy of a formal art education (in fashion) and a teacher’s degree, have created in her a large amount of knowledge for pursuing her subjects.  Jackie takes commissions and works in oil, pastel, watercolour, charcoal and pencil etc and has clients locally and from many countries abroad.

Portraiture is a favourite and popular subject from adults, children, dogs, cats and of course horses.  Her commitment to the society of equestrian artists has meant running a group of up to 40 artists for 8 years, organizing workshops and visiting many equestrian venues. (as an example, 2007 has already seen trips to the Kings Troop in north London, a donkey sanctuary and a side saddle championship show)

The airy studio in Hastoe, where Jackie works, is a converted traction engine shed, part of a Rothschild property where occasionally a subject rides by and if the window is open stops for a carrot and a chat.
